Most of the times, we tend to believe nothing wrong will happen to us and as emergency strikes, it is only knowledge about first aid which can be our saviour against various medical emergencies.
Always remember to call EMS ( emergency medical system) ( 102, 108 in India) before providing first aid to a victim in case of an emergency.

CPR is the heart and soul of our first aid training programs. According to WHO - an estimated 17.9 million people died from CVDs (Cardiovascular diseases) in 2016, representing 31% of all global deaths. Of these deaths, 85% are due to heart attack and stroke.Unfortunately most of these victims couldn't even reach the hospital. It is important to revive the heart in case a person suddenly collapses which may stop his heart.
CPR if timely given can save the person's life. AED encompasses an equal importance in the cardiac chain of survival. If CPR is being followed by an AED, it will surely double the chance of survival for the victim. Time is of utmost importance as slightest delay may cost someone’s precious life. “Respond and Act Fast”.
In USA & UK, target response time to be taken by an ambulance (911/999) to reach the victim is less than 8 minutes. But In India, target response time to be taken by an ambulance (108) to reach the victim is 20- 35 min for Urban areas and 41 min for rural/village areas.
So seeing the current status of emergency response available in India, we cannot depend upon the medical system alone and we need to prepare ourselves for this eventuality before it’s too late.
When we drive the car, we just drive the CAR. We don't remember the word Defensive. Its always remain hidden for most of us. But lets say for people who have survived a serious accident in their lives. This word makes a lot of difference when they again get behind the wheel. Defensive Driving is a set of driving skills that allows you to develop preventive mind-set against possible collisions caused by reckless drivers, drunk drivers, and poor weather thereby ensuring your safe arrival at the desired destination.
